Letting Love In
Jan 28, 2025
Let’s talk about fear. It’s that sneaky little voice in your head that says, “Don’t do it. What if you fail? What if people judge you? What if you… gulp… feel uncomfortable?” Fear is the ultimate buzzkill. It’s the thing that keeps us from signing up for the class, taking the trip, or saying yes to the thing we secretly, desperately want.
And when it comes to our bodies? Oh, fear pulls out all the stops.
“Don’t wear that.”
“Don’t eat that.”
“Don’t even THINK about looking in the mirror.”
Fear convinces us that if we just shrink ourselves (literally and metaphorically), life will get better. But spoiler alert: it doesn’t. Because hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. And for too long, so many of us have tried to hate our bodies into submission. We’ve stood in front of mirrors, armed with criticism and self-loathing, hoping it would somehow motivate us to change. Guess what? It doesn’t work.
Here’s the truth: you can’t heal a body you despise. You can’t nourish a body you’re at war with. And you definitely can’t thrive in a body you’ve spent years punishing. The only way forward is love. The uncomfortable, messy, sometimes-sob-in-the-shower kind of love. The kind that says, “I’m here, and I’m not giving up on you.”
That’s what Shonna and I are stepping into with our Breaking the Weight Cycle course. It’s not about hating yourself skinny. It’s about falling in love with yourself exactly as you are and letting that love guide the way. Yes, it’s scary. Yes, it’s vulnerable. And yes, it’s worth it.
Fear will tell you to stay where it’s safe. Love will invite you to step into the light. So, which one are you going to listen to?
If you’re ready to let go of fear and let love in, come join us. It’s going to be uncomfortable, cathartic, and deeply meaningful. And you’re going to come out the other side lighter—not because you lost weight, but because you let go of what was holding you back.
Hate has no place here. Only love.
Let’s do this together.
With all the love,
Rachelle
